In 1965, Dr. A.P. Mitchell and his family opened Mitchell Veterinary Supply at 2136 N. Mosley. They supplied veterinary supplies to the livestock industry, benefiting from the proximity to the Wichita Union Stockyards, which were just two blocks away.

By 1985, the stockyards had closed, necessitating a change in our product selection. We expanded our range to include products for horses, dogs, and cats. This includes quality dog and cat food at reasonable prices, as well as vaccines, wormers, flea, and tick products that allow customers to save on expensive vet bills. Our inventory also features good, affordable dog collars and leads, along with natural medicines for various medical problems.

We cater to a strong Hispanic racehorse community in the Wichita area, offering products for match races or races at the parimutuel tracks in Oklahoma and Texas. This includes Purina racehorse feed, vitamin supplements, and racehorse tack.

In 2023, the city of Wichita purchased our location at 2136 N. Mosley to make way for a new right-hand turn at the corner. Consequently, we moved to a larger building at 1336 N. Broadway, which is conveniently located away from the trains and the odors from the neighboring by-products company.

Although Dr. Mitchell has passed away, his legacy continues through his son Arlen and grandson Jesse. We strive to provide excellent customer service, and we encourage you to check our reviews to see how we're doing.
